Bazzmatazz dance studio is based in Halifax, West Yorkshire UK.
Join Bazzmatazz for Fabulous Dance & Fitness, under the professional wing of dance teacher and choreographer Bazz Robson.
The adult dance classes are aimed at women aged 16+, the main choreography classes are a combination of eclectic commercial pop, with routines taught to the likes of Kylie, Little Mix, Take That, Wham!, Spice Girls and Britney Spears to name a few...all mixed together with lots of fun and fitness. Other classes are available: Dance fitness session 'Retroburn' - Monday 6pm - which is set to the sounds of the 80's...... and kidz class, 'Bazzmatazz Starz*' for children aged 6+, which runs every Monday at 4pm (*taught by Miss Laura).
Dancing not only gives you a cardio workout, toning bits of your body you didn't know existed, it also releases endorphins. You don't even notice that you're working hard, as Bazzmatazz is more like a Saturday night out than a gym slog....and don't panic if you haven't the rhythm of Rihanna, attitude of Aguilera or the moves like Little Mix, anyone can do a Bazzmatazz dance class. The moves are broken down into easy-to-learn steps, so you work your brain as well as your body. Then, once you can bust a move with Bazz, you'll be rewarded with a confidence boost as well as boost to your body.
When I left school I signed up for a performing arts course at college. I was awarded the Empire Theatre award for the best Performing Arts student at the end of the 20th century. I then went onto
dance and choreograph for many venues in the North-East including a 5 year on-off residency at the 'Tuxedo Princess' in Newcastle. Fame came my way in the summer of 2001, in the shape of a
reality TV show called 'Red Hot Dance', I was one of the winners which lead me to Ibiza, with a camera crew, to perform at the opening night of the world famous club 'El Divino'. In 2002 I went to
Majorca, Spain and became dance captain and principal choreographer of the 6th biggest club in Europe 'BCM'. After a career spanning 10 years, in 2006, I opened my own dance studio called
'Bazzmatazz'. Fast forward 14 years and I continue to teach, choreograph, produce shows and perform at various events. I have also taught many workshops and performed for various charity events,
including Marie Curie and Children In Need, in venues such as the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. I have also compered the Overgate Hospice 'Colour Run' for 6 years running.
In 2011, I was asked to choreograph for and dance in a Nintendo Wii game 'Now That's What I Call Music: Dance & Sing!'. The game was released in December 2011 and was a massive hit. In 2012, I was asked to choreograph a further 3 games for Nintendo Wii. These were 'Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals: Sing & Dance', 'Kylie: Sing & Dance' and 'Elvis: Sing & Dance'.
In 2014, I was asked to choreograph a Christmas show and perform it (with my dance troupe) on the Bafta award winning CBBC show 'Sam & Mark's BIG Christmas Wind-Up'. The show aired in December 2014.
For 3 years, I was a judge at the dance competition 'Let's Dance for NSPCC', which took place at the Square Chapel Centre for Arts. In 2017 I was the musical director and choreographer of the show. Since 2018 I have been the head judge, at the Moorlands 'Strictly Charity Ball'.
On Saturday June 24th 2017, I opened the Mytholmroyd Gala.
In September 2017, I got a job hosting my own show, on Hebden Radio. In December 2018, I had moved my show 'Bazz's Energy Express', to Phoenix FM 96.7.
In November 2017, 2018 & 2019, I was delighted to be asked to switch on the Christmas lights in Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge.
I am currently on the committee for Calderdale Pride and in 2019, as well as putting the event together, had the pleasure of hosting the event.
In October 2019, I was approached by Yahoo UK to host a staycation programme called 'An Insider's Guide to...Halifax'. The episode is released on Saturday February 22nd 2020.
I have been performing, choreographing, dancing and teaching for over 20 years.
